Description

ADDPLAST 170 R is a highly effective superplasticizer with set retarding effect to produce free flowing concrete in hot climates. Also a substantial water reduction can be achieved to promote high early strength.

Uses

ADDPLAST 170 R can be used as a superplasticizer for flowing concrete in :

• Floor slabs
• Prestressed Concrete Girders
• Foundation
• Slender components with packed reinforcement

• Beams and Ceilings

Dosage

0.5 to 1.5% by weight of cement. Exact dosage rates are dependent on the type of effect and retardation sought, quality of cement and aggregates, w/c ratio and ambient temperature. Therefore, it is advisable to carry out trial mixes.

Important Recommendations

ADDPLAST 170 Rcan be added separately to the freshly mixed concrete or directly to the mixing water prior to its addition to wet aggregate – cement mix. When added to the freshly mixed concrete, the plasticising effect is more pronounced. For ready mixed concrete ADDPLAST 170 R is added to the concrete immediately prior to discharge and after further mixing has taken place for 3 minutes.

Handling Precautions

Addcon Products are generally quite harmless, provided certain normal statutory precautions are taken for handling chemicals. Avoid contact with foodstuff and food utensils. Avoid prolonged skin contact. Wear protective clothing, gloves etc. (barrier cream). In the event of contamination, wash thoroughly with water. If the eye or mouth is affected, wash with clean water immediately and obtain medical attention.

Water-reducing Concrete Admixture

Description

A versatile and economical concrete plasticizer & waterproofing compound. Compiles with IS : 9103 – 99, ASTM C 494/C 494 M-99a Type A.

Uses

ADDPLAST PLUS is used wherever high quality structural concrete is
required. Its plasticising effect is particularly useful where:

• Exposed surfaces are important
• Maximum performance is desired
• Placing conditions are difficult
• Poor quality aggregates are found
• Pre-cast elements are produced
• Piling
• and wherever quality concrete is required

• Improved workability without increased water
• Reduced water without loss of workability
• Increased strength / durability
• Cement saving / economy

• Unaffected setting times

Dosage

ADDPLAST PLUS is compatible with all types of Portland cement including Sulphate Resistant Cement (SRC).

Dispensing

ADDPLAST PLUS should be dispensed directly into the mixing water prior to its addition to the wet concrete. When accidental overdosing occurs, ADDPLAST PLUS does not entrain excessive amount of air and does not effect the ultimate strength, only the setting time is extended.

High range water reducing PC based cement admixture.

Description

Addplast-viscois a third generation super plasticizer for concrete and mortar. It meets the requirements for super plasticizers
Addplast-viscois especially suitable for the production of concrete mixes which require high early strength development, powerful water reduction and excellent flowability.

Uses

• Precast concrete
• Fast track concrete
• In situ concrete requiring fast stripping time
• Self Compacting Concrete (SCC)

Characteristics

Addplast-visco as a powerful super plasticizer acts by different mechanisms. Through surface adsorption and sterical effects separating the binder particles the following properties are achieved:

• Increase in the early strength development, resulting in very economic stripping times for precast and in situ concrete
• Extremely powerful water reduction, resulting in high density, high strength and reduced permeability for water etc.
• Excellent plasticizing effect, resulting in improved flow ability, placing and compacting behavior.
• Reduced energy cost for steam cured precast elements
• Especially suitable for the production of Self Compacting Concrete (SCC)
• Improved shrinkage and creep behavior
• Reduced closure times for repairs of roads and runways
• Addplast-visco does not contain chlorides or other ingredients promoting corrosion of steel reinforcement. It is therefore suitable for reinforced and prestressed steel.

Consumption / Dosage Recommended dosage

• For medium workability: 0.2 – 0.8% by weight of cement
• For concrete of high workability, very low water/cement ration and for self compacting concrete: 1.0 – 2.0% by weight of cement.
• Actual dosage to be finalized on the basis of site trials.
