Methodology For Water Proofing of Terrace By Polymer Modified Cementitious Coat

1. Cleaning of TERRACE
   • The TERRACE shall be cleaned thoroughly using a water jet followed by letting the wet areas to dry. The roof slab shall be carefully observed for presence of any cracks / voids / honeycombs etc.
2. Treatment to TERRACE
   • The RCC TERRACE shall be cleaned and if cracks found visible then it shell be cleaned properly and filled with the past of acrylic polymer and cement
3. Provision of Coving (Vata)
   • The prepared corners at junctions of floor & wall shall be filled with 1:4 cement sand mortar modified with integral waterproofing admixture Addcon LW+ added at a dosage of 200gms. Per 50 Kg of cement. The size of the coving shall be 100mm x 100mm.
   • The coving (Vata) shall be cured for 3 days before starting any other treatment.
4. Cleaning
   • The creaked & treated joints & Vata shall be cleaned with compressed air to remove any traces of dust, cement etc.
5. Provision of water proof coating
   • The prepared surface shall be dampened with water before providing the water proofing system.
   • The dampened surface shall be provided with Acrylic polymer for making flexible cementitious waterproofing Addcon Rainproof. This shall be applied in 2 coats to the required thickness. Addcon Rainproof shall be applied by brush & the two coats shall be perpendicular to each other.
   • After application of first coat, fiber mesh shall be pressed at the corners on the Terrace when the Addcon Rainproof is still tacky.
   • The second coat shall be applied over the 1st coat after it has initially dried say after about 4hrs.
